2021 NBA Playoff Bracket: Schedule, Start Time, Odds, Game 7 Predictions For Nets Vs. Bucks (2022)

A coveted spot in the Eastern Conference Finals is up for grabs when the Brooklyn Nets take on the Milwaukee Bucks in a thrilling Game 7 tonight. This epic, back-and-forth series will finally conclude this evening, setting up a matchup with either the Philadelphia 76ers or Atlanta Hawks—who will battle in a Game 7 of their own tomorrow—for a spot in the NBA Finals.

The Nets will once again be down a man in this series, with star guard Kyrie Irving remaining sidelined with an ankle injury he suffered in Game 4 last weekend. Brooklyn will have James Harden back in the fold, but the guard does not seem fully recovered from a hamstring injury he suffered early in the series opener and ultimately kept him out until Game 5.

Harden has struggled to impact the game with his transcendent scoring ability since suiting back up, contributing a meager 21 points in 46 minutes of play over the last two contests. He’s been working more as a facilitator, however, dishing out 15 assists in that span and feeding a red-hot Kevin Durant. The Bucks have struggled to find an answer for KD in this series, getting lit up by the superstar swingman for an average of 33.3 points on 51.6% shooting.

Durant likely saved Brooklyn’s season in Game 5, amassing a brilliant triple-double that included 49 points, 17 boards and 10 assists. The 32-year-old cooled off a bit in Game 6, but still chipped in a team-high 32 points and 11 boards in an ugly 104-89 loss. It will likely take another herculean effort from Durant tonight to get the Nets into the conference finals, especially if the Bucks get another massive outing from Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo was relentless around the rim on both sides of the floor Thursday, taking all 20 of his shots from inside the arc—connecting on 12 of them to finish with 30 points—and snaring 17 rebounds. His aggressiveness allowed teammate Khris Middleton to shine from long range, with the forward canning five-of-eight three-point attempts and finishing with a game-high 38 points.

Milwaukee has shrunk from the spotlight in their recent playoff runs, but could change the narrative with a big road win in Game 7. Brooklyn was built to raise a banner this year, but injuries and lack of depth may end up being the club’s undoing unless it can find a way to turn things around at the Barclays Center tonight.

The East’s No. 2 seed floundered once the series moved to Milwaukee, however, losing back-to-back road games against the conference’s No. 3 seed. The Bucks wouldn’t go out quietly though, decimating their opponent in Game 6 to set up this win-or-go-home clash in Game 7.

Nets vs. Bucks Betting Overview

Game 7 Odds

NBA odds courtesy ofFanDuel Sportsbook

Spread: Nets -1.5

The Nets are only a slight, 1.5-point favorite in Game 7, but the public loves the home side here. As of Saturday afternoon, over three-fourths of both the total bets (76%) and money (79%) wagered against the spread are on Brooklyn.

Game 7 actually opened as a pick ‘em—meaning bookmakers felt each team had an equal chance to win and didn’t put a line on the contest—but this lopsided public action has helped spur oddsmakers to adjust the line in favor of the Nets.

Total: Over-Under 216.5 Points

The total on Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinals is polarizing the public a good bit more than the spread. The betting trends show close to equal action on both the over and under sides of this line, although some late action has tilted the scales in favor of the over.

The over-under on this final Nets-Bucks clash went up on the board at 215.5 points, but most shops have since adjusted it to 216.5. With approximately eight hours left until the contest’s 8:30 p.m. ET tip-off time, 55% of the tickets and 53% of the handle are rooting for a high-scoring affair. There may be some buyback from sharp bettors now that the line has reached 216.5, which could drop it down to 216 or back to its opening mark of 215.5 before things get underway.

Moneyline: Nets -125, Bucks +100

Given the narrow spread—and lack of one altogether at the open—on Game 7, it’s not too shocking that the moneyline trends are basically mirroring those of the spread.

The Nets are receiving overwhelming public support here, garnering 74% of bets and an even more impressive 85% of the cash. Bettors are hammering Brooklyn to outright win without having to lay 1.5 points, with the team’s current -125 odds set to pay out $1 for each $1.25 risked if it can reach the Eastern Conference Finals.

Milwaukee can be found for even money at this juncture, meaning bettors would have their bet matched by the book if the visitors pull out a victory in Game 7. These odds translate to an implied probability of 50% that the Bucks win and a 56% chance that the Nets win, with the percentages adding up to more than 100% due to the vig—the cut a shop takes for facilitating bets.

Game 7 Pick: Nets -1.5

Game 7 Prediction: Nets 107 – Bucks 104

NBA Futures Betting

Bookmakers believe that the Nets have the best chance at not only winning the Eastern Conference Finals, but also raising the Larry O’Brien Trophy at the conclusion of the 2021 NBA Playoffs.

Brooklyn has been installed as a +115 favorite of navigating through the East portion of the NBA Playoff bracket and a +220 favorite to capture a championship.

The Bucks are only slightly behind in the Eastern Conference—and will be the favorite to win it if they can pull an upset in Game 7—at +165. Milwaukee is a bit of a longshot to win a title though, with Vegas giving the club +480 odds—a figure that puts the Bucks behind both the Suns and Clippers and only slight ahead of the 76ers.

Here's a look at the latest futures odds for each remaining contender in the 2021 NBA Playoffs:

Eastern Conference Champions: Nets +115, Bucks +165, 76ers +360, Hawks +1600

NBA Championship: Nets +220, Suns +250, Clippers +440, Bucks +480, 76ers +650, Hawks +3200
